A musician who risks filling the books of music.
Gonçalo Pratas was born in Aveiras de Cima. He is a musician. He has worked in education. As a theater and cinema composer, he has worked with José Carretas, Companhia Teatral do Chiado, José Carlos Garcia – Chapitô e João Pupo, among others. He is the author, director and musical producer of several records, books and musical projects, such as Buscapólos Trocadilhar – songs for José Jorge Letria’s poems (Publicações D. Quixote, 2010), the Galo Gordo project (Porto Editora, 2015) and A Casa Sincronizada, with a poem by Inês Pupo and illustrations by Pedro Brito, that received the SPA/RTP Award for Best Children’s and Youth Book in 2012 (Editorial Caminho, 2012). One of his songs was included in the prestigious American children music publisher Putumayo Kids playlist. His books are referenced by Plano Nacional da Leitura and Casa da Leitura – Fundação Gulbenkian.
