Department for Support to the Publishing and Promotion of the Author

The Portuguese Society of Authors created the Department for Support to the Publishing and Promotion of the Author within the scope of its policy of adaptation to the new needs of the book market.

With this new service, SPA will grant support to the literary authors, current and futures members of the society, in the selection and presentation of their works to international publishers, acting on their behalf in the negotiation of the rights of author.

Our intervention will be focused on:

- Promoting Portuguese authors and their works in the international book market;

- Negotiating international book publishing contracts;

- Identifying funding opportunities to support book publishing.

When joining publishers and other agents of promotion and commercialization of selected works by Portuguese authors we seek for the divulging of the Portuguese literature and the improvement of the world literary panorama.
